SENDS is a multidisciplinary science-based approach to gaining a fundamental understanding of what cyberspace is and how it works. SENDS incorporates thinking from biology (especially neuroscience),economics, social sciences and physics to exploit self-organization, emergence and network theory.
SENDS brings together business process, education, technology, law and policy, modeling and simulation techniques, metrics, and most importantly, people to these challenges. These factors all interact within a highly collaborative study and work environment known as the SENDS Substrate. Through this highly collaborative setting, SENDS accommodates the recognition and exploitation of emergence in cyberspace. We are seeking to develop what we call “open-source science” to address the challenges posed.
